I swear by god that I mean every word I’m saying. I’m not saying this to be “cute” or “lame” or try and fit in with the amazingly smart class of mine. This is purely my own interest and I REALLY DO mean every word I say so please don’t be like “omg this girl is so fake and trying to be damn attas”.
What am I talking about?
I’m talking about literature…. Or more specifically Shakespeare.
Now usually most blog posts will give background information on a certain topic before they start their commentary. I’m NOT going to give background info on Shakespeare because if you don’t know who Shakespeare is I think you need to start reading more in general. No offense bruh, even my chinese teacher from China that I used to skype for conversational chinese class knows who Shakespeare is.
But okay I’m rambling on anyway. I’m going to get to the point. I admit it, I really love Shakespeare now. Its strange that I’ve never had a fascination for him before, even though I’m a theatre student and he’s like the Bruce Lee of Theatre. But after reading Julius Caesar (which I initially hated), I really do appreciate him so much. And yes, I know alot of people are like “William Shakespeare is overrated and the lit teachers put more effort into analysing his stuff more than he did”- I love the fact that he didn’t have to try but he put in all these things sort of subconsciously. Okay I honestly can’t put a finger on it myself but there’s something I really like about him.
And omg I love it when the RSC people do Shakespeare I legit like gasp everytime they deliver his important lines ITS SO POWERFUL. Okay I’m sounding kind of fake now but I SINCERELY mean all of what I’m saying.
And on that note, I’m really excited that we get to do Elizabethean Theatre next year. I’m not sure if we’ll get Shakespeare but honestly I don’t really mind. It will be a big step though, from doing ten minute original plays (better come watch our arts fest thing) to full length 2.5 hours Elizabethan dialogue but I’m willing to try.
Yes, all three nights for the arts fest have been completely sold out. It was free anyway. I’m not acting this time round but the play I wrote (hahs yea yea whatever) is gonna be in it so please come support. Its called Free Falling btw I named it after a John Mayer song but whatever looking back the script is kind of terrible so please judge in your mind.
If you’re wondering how to come since the tickets are sold out, its not actually that hard because I know alot of assholes will book 9 seats and only 4 people will show up so just wait outside the theatre and there will probably be extra empty seats.
Anyway, since I’m bored here is a list of plays in the thingy.
